Good, but could've been better

We'll start with the good...musically, the band is fantastic. Vocally, John still has it but maybe sounds a little more like John Prine. The second half of the show, the hits kept coming. There are so many! The bad...the concert started with a 30+ minute film on John's love for classic movies and showed several long clips from old B&W films. It was about 20 minutes too long. When you're ready for a concert to start at 8:00 and the actual music doesn't start til after 8:30, that sucks. The fans were getting restless and honestly I felt like it took a few songs for the fans to get into it after waking up from the slumber that the film put them in. My only other complaint was that the first half of the concert was littered with songs that only the most devout JM fan would know. Which eliminated time that could've been given to some bigger hits that weren't played. I don't have to know every song to enjoy a concert, but when you go see Mellencamp you expect to hear The Authority Song and ROCK in the USA. Those weren't played. All in all, it was a good concert. If you're a Mellencamp fan, I recommend it. Just be prepared to take a nap immediately before the music starts.
